Frame failure experiences

So finally, that is the benefit of internal cables? Cables keep it "almost" together after numpties have put holes in tubes?

My father told me not all progress is good :D
I like the phrase 'never mistake action for progress'! Also, not all evolution is good. By it's nature evolution means change over time, but not all change is positive or beneficial, either in manufactured stuff, or nature.

There is a good video from Ritchey explaining why they will never go internal with cables (hope this is still true?!) - they just feel the compromises are too great - more weight, more difficult maintenance, compromising frame and tube design etc. Think it was the 2 beer Q&A with Ritchey episode 10 about half way through:

Snapped a BMX frame in about 1986, bad landing fully crossed up and the frame snapped at the head tube, along with my face; broken nose, cheekbone, jaw, killed my front two teeth and gave me permanent black eyes (now faded).
