How does stainless ride compared to Reynolds, Tange or Columbus? How does it compare weight wise? There probably not a lot of difference.
I discussed it with my local builder and he did say that there is little difference between non stainless butted steel and stainless in weight, ride and strength, The nicer tubesets like columbus xcr and reynolds 953 make lighter frames.

I’ve recently sold my (slightly too big) audax Mercian and was instantly hit with seller’s regret. So to ease the pain I bought this and set about converting it to suit me.
This is what I collected a couple of weeks ago: IMG_0556.webp IMG_0561.webp IMG_0562.webp

And where it’s at now:

Not finished yet. Waiting for a couple of bits to arrive, also need to build the wheels around Royce hubs I have for it,
but struggling to find decent 32h polished silver rims. It’s a Malc Cowle, second one I see in the flesh (the other one hangs in my hallway). Built in 1982 in Manchester. Hope it fits here.
Cheers
