For Sale Saracen Trekker For Sale 18"

Retro Newbie
Hi all, i'm looking to release some of my bike collection back into the wild and hope they'll generate some interest.

First up is this Saracen Trekker double u brake model in immaculate condition,

I purchased the frame first and then tracked down all the missing parts ( which took ages) and rebuilt it. It has all the correct Saracen branded items, check out the wolber rims in mint condition with correct Tioga Farmer John tyres and the anodised chainset. It has a Saracen bottle cage, saddle, stem and bars, plus the pedals have Saracen branded toe clips.

Frame size is 18"

The only things it mark it down on are the seat post which has some marks to the anodising and after market brake pads on the u brakes.

I'm looking for £600, based in Devon, happy to help with postage or meeting up, let me know if i'm wildly out on price

thanks Andy

That's a 1989 Trekker Competition, l recently picked up one in the similar condition to yours for £100, so should give you an idea on pricing.

Great bikes GLWS

Thanks for the info, you did really well to get it for that price :)
Yes @dw_uk2000 got his first a great price. Yours is in remarkable condition, but the market ATM is crap for selling. If you want maximum price then you can play the long game on eBay or FaceBook, but can’t see you getting anywhere near £600. For someone this will be the perfect bike and they would be happy to pay good money for it, but I think you’re talking about £400 absolute max with the way the market is and it could take you over a year to sell. Happy to be proven wrong though!

Bloody love a double u brake Saracen though! 😍😎👌

It is lovely but you'd be better off splitting to make any kind of money back. I've bought and sold plenty of 89's over the years as my first MTB was a 1989 Tufftrax and still watch the market (which is terrible atm) so reckon you'd be doing very, very well to get half your asking price. Even when the market has been stronger the only 89 to get much interest over £200 are the filet braised Kili's.

Sadly agree. I reckon on a good day you might get £300 and playing the long game you could get possibly get £400, but it won't shift straight away unless all the stars align with a buyer looking for that exact bike.
