Classic mini project

I think if i was going to ever do this sort of thing again on a 1275GT engine i would replace each carb with a throttle body and injector. Have an ECU doing the injection and ignition with a sensible cam and a ported big valve head, lightened flywheel and internals and i think 100bhp whould be easy. It would also be economical and you can toodle to the shops and back like a normal person without having to keep the revs high and stuttering about while more fuel goes out the exhaust than into combustion.
Carbs are in the stone age compared to programmable injection. All that spitting back through carbs running on race cams is just a stinky fire hazard and spendy. Decent programmable ECU's with TB's are spendy themselves but ime they are worth it for the driveability. You can get a proper roar going on with them, too, when the air is being pulled hard through them.

Brings it all back. Good luck.

I hate to put a downer on this but...

I had a 30 Anniversary Mini once and I can confidently and honestly claim it was equipped with heavy steering, was horrible to drive on the motorway and became eventually a rust bucket piece of crud full of holes...I have no fond memories of it...their horrible!

It's an equivalent of a Raleigh Chopper in my eyes...

I believe my work is done 😁

Not a fan then? All the things you've listed are called 'The Charm'.

I feel similarly 'Meh' about 98% of modern cars.

:)
Correct lol.

'The Charm'...similar to those cute niggles that your partner has for those few sweet days/weeks/months after marriage and then become seriously irritating?

😁

Though I have to admit I think I have been a tad harsh so I apologise.

The GT/Estate front of the mini looks a lot nicer and weren't the windows tinted green?

Later GT models & later HL estate models came with sundim glass but it was also available on round front models such as the HL, Mayfair etc.
