Those blue forks need to go on the Orange one (imho). I like the white or black on the green.

I’d be tempted to get a pair of white SiD world cups on the 98 (might break your rule though)

Yeh can’t break the + - 1 year rule.

Usually I wouldn’t colour clash green & blue but I quite like it. I think with black wheels / bits it’ll look good.

I’ve actually got a spare pair of 98 Sid lowers which I’m considering having painted black (or green) for this bike.


The orange one has a 98 Judy SL lined up as again I wouldn’t normally clash orange with yellow but I’m trying to be a bit more colourful on these. The SID does look good on it though but the blue doesn’t match the logos

I mean if you get the 98 SID colour matched to the green it will look sick!

Personally I wouldn’t put yellow forks with the orange frame on the 97. I’d go with some old Pace RC36’s or something subtle to make the frame pop - or actually some 97 P2’s in the gun metal grey would look sweet. Otherwise I think it would need to be the dark blue Bombers that came on the 98 Explosif

I’m always careful with colour matching bits. As unless they are painted at the same time it’s unlikely to be identical and then just looks off.

Also back in the 90s (and now ) not many people had forks painted. We all just colour clashed everything didn’t we


As mentioned I also have spare set of SID lowers. These have been painted in a shade lighter than the correct SID colour and are nearer to the 97 decals. I did consider building a SID /judy hybrid fo for this bike

Yeah those yellow forks look cool actually, I think because they are not 100% yellow where the decals are etc it works.

Defo better than the blue as the blue is too dark

And the actual 98 Judy I will use will match slightly better. This pair I’ve pictured above are from my LTS. But the pair I will use are away being painted - but have slightly modified decals to move away from the olive colour to a orange/gold

What black brake levers and brakes were around in 98?

Black ops avid is the only one I can think of.
