Raleigh Dyna Tech appreciation and information thread

Took it apart today and gave it a good clean. LX shifters are toast despite they look cosmetic in good condition, shifts are numb. Will try to clean them and get them back to working condition.
Seatpost was cut down to some 20 cm, stem 1 inch was fixed with a bushing to fit the 1.8 fork, not really secure 🤨

Removed all components, cable guide under bottom bracket fell of and someone tried to pinch a screw through the bottom bracket shell 😳. Some mechanics...

Overall frame is in good condition, decals are apart from some small nicks still OK.

Fork has most marks but I found my old Mag21 is nearly same colour so as grey tubes, slightly more yellow. What do you think about adding this here?
Wheels replaced with some XT /Ambrosio and butterscotch Tioga's, another seatpost with Vetta seat, non branded stem and True Temper bar.

Question for the "sharkfin": this came with this frame but is a Proline. Material is softer compared to the XT fin and slightly different shape. Is this original? Don't see this in any folder.

any one have a pair of u.g.l.i forks for a diablo stx? i chucked mine years ago, after bending them, put a crease in the boss, so they would have always been weak after, might fit a set of spinner, if i can`t find one.

Anyone know the seatpost diameter for Dynatech Road bikes? The restoration of my 1994 Corsa 405ti has begun and I am not sure the seatpost it came with is original/correct.
Cheers

it varies depending on the year and the material, most of the mt3 - mt4 range with tims titanium is 28.4mm. spme of pro range, like my 2070 tt lo-pro, with reynolds 653 has 28mm. some of the later mtrax range has larger 31.2mm... the mtrax 27.5`s and 29ers are 31.8mm .. how ever for yours, id say would be same as an mt3/4 28.4mm, anybody else, want to add anything?
MT4 is 26.4 -26.6mm. They take a 28.6mm front derailleur. Although this is not helpful to the OP. Best not to confuse internal with external measurements.

@averagebiker your best bet is using a vernier / micrometer.
