Anyone ever seen a '97 Marin Team Titanium?

Ahhh ok. I only skimmed the text and looked at the pictures. He must have had the decals made up then.

Edit. Yes I see that now. Still it's a '99 frame though according to him and he has a few already.

just FYI, the "regular" Team Titanium according 1999 catalog

and for the sake of completeness a full picture of both pages for the 97 one

the 1998 catalog was clearly sating "Aluminium & Cormoly MTBs",

so there was no Titanium available at all in 98?

A bit wondering why Marin started again in 1999 than? While Titan was rather out already since a while...

I found this interesting thread and have a big question:
Can anyone tell me what year this frame is from? The logos look like they're from '97 (like the Muirwoods, and in that cream color).

Okay, ya're pretty dry. He was able to get these photos of the serial number without the plastic cable gland and it was clean. I hope this is more enlightening

I think Gary Helfrich would have something to say about that back in the mid 80s when he was chief welder at FAT CITY CYCLES 😆 Bean counters and Taiwanese mass produced cr@p all contributed to the race to the bottom quality wise in the 90s.

About 2010 it was total darkness. I believe that when Colnago decided to manufacture bicycles with 1" steering and sillin tubes with 72.5º, that's when I decided to start making a choice of classic bicycles 😁.
When they started manufacturing in China, I fell into total depression, I spent years without wanting to know anything about cycling
PD. It's true

Same things gonna happen to the EU car industry now. Cheap Far East made electric cars made of plastic components that go hard, crack and aren’t worth repairing, just outside the warranty period of course. Unexpectedly high recycling charges and so it goes on and on.

Everybody wants cheap cr@p these days. Its a false economy but thats the way it is.
