This is one of those builds were if you can scratch the parts together, nothing looks too out of place and it tracks well enough, and if you can have a blast on it on when the time is right for it - it´s a winner and so are you astride it.

I haven't exactly decided to paint it yet. Felt very odd to be masking off the crusty bits so I could spray the shiny ones.
Something about the black rims and chrome ring isn't jiving. Feel free to talk me out of flat black primer. You have approximately 6 hours.

Matt black is nice, I did paint a Randonneur frame in Hammerite though. I'm probably not the chap to ask

I can see in the mock up the chrome chainring standing out a bit. But when complete it'll look better, I think.

Also I say the more patina, the better. I'd stick with the chrome/rust crankset!

Matte black seems a bad idea.. If you must, better the entire crankset?

That is still an option, but there is heavy pitting and rust on the arms, not sure what covering it would look like
