I picked this up earlier today from Reading. It was for sale on CTC and ibelieveinfixies helped me out by contacting the seller and putting us in contact with each other.
Stopped by this afternoon, had a nice cuppa and chatted about old bikes for a while with the lovely retired couple (the chaps wife had a gorgeous recently refurbed 80's Roberts tourer
).
Found out that they were at Mayhem this year cheering on their Son. Told him he was most likely heckled by us
He remembered seeing me and Gravymonster riding his Saracen tandem too!
Anyhow, net result was this pretty original 87' Stumpy.

Hardly used Farmer John that he threw in with the deal
After loosing the ahead converter and stem....
The non-original parts are the rear rim (got a brand new Mavic 121 SUP ceramic on it), stem, bars and seatpost.
Got a pair of black ano RM20's with MT60 hubs that will probably get cleaned up and fitted. Also have some mint Vuelta Team Issue skinwalls that'll look nice.
Plans are simple...clean it up, see if Gil can help with decals (were removed before previous owner bought it?), find bits to return to as close to original as possible then ride the hell out of it
