Hello, I'm new here and have an Overbury's Pioneer!

Just joined today as I was looking up about Overbury's bikes, I have a Pioneer, not the foggiest what year, but I love it, have put it back on the road after a sabbatical in the garage "roof".
Rebuilt it with some new bits(did I just swear? LOL), and ride it most days to work and for exercise fun.
Pics soon. Is scruffy. :D

Excuse the condition. :/

Re:

thats fantastic and actually in an odd way very nice to see a bike from the nineties looking 20+ years old and in use, rather than a full on restore (as much as i love them too)

planning on doing much with it?

For the moment, enjoy riding it, I have had the bike for 16 years roughly, I rode it to work years ago, 10 miles a day, then got lazy and drove, the bike sat in the garage and bits got removed or were just worn. This year I decided I missed riding it, was bored of riding my GT Avalanche Pro on the roads and wanted a more road oriented bike, so I dug the Pioneer out and decided to rebuild it.
I didn't realise they were collectable, had thought of getting the frame resprayed nicely, but I really like the unusual colour and fade design they have done with the pink, :D So now I am unsure.

Re:

like it, whether to refurb the paint or not is a personal choice.

I have finally managed to aquire a similar example, with some minor differences, the tubing is Reynolds instead of Columbus and whilst the fork is straight legged too, it has a larger tube diameter to the leg.

Looking forward to following what you decide to do with it... 8)

Re: Hello, I'm new here and have an Overbury's.

hard to tell from the pics, but from what i can see i would leave the paint well alone just clean/t-cut/polish

then all i would do would be to ditch the plastic rubbish and get on with it

if you ever fancied doing a make over and harmonising the parts, pretty much any upper end gruppo look the nuts on these - XT/DX etc

then you could tidy up the saddle, stem, bars etc, but none of it essential as the frame and forks are so nice

I so want one of these at some point - well jel!

Cheers Sinnerman, be good to see some pics of yours. :) I love the way the front fork flexes, like a slight suspension shock absorber, presuming it was designed this way.

I added the plastics, LOL, I ride a lot, all weathers, I do 10 miles in my lunch hour for fun, so it stops me getting too wet if the rain has stopped. :D

It did have an XT "short" rear mech, but it was VERY worn, so I recently replaced it.
The canti's are around somewhere as well. So should be the X lite brake levers.
