Logo orientation (should generally) be left/right. But as others have said, it's personal preference. Personally I don't want one logo getting covered with dirt/mud and the other logo detracting from the headbadge.
While we're on the subject of being uptight...
The thing I notice the most on UK builds vs US builds are the orientation of the handlebars and front hub.
UK bikes run bars with logos legible from the cockpit and front hub logos facing away from the rider.
US bikes run bars with logos facing away from the rider and hub logos the same direction as the rear hub logo.
No matter what, hub logo should align with the valve hole on the rim and rim logos front and rear should be legible from the drive side. Tire labels should also align with the valve stem.
