why did 1.25" never take off?

93 a few companies used them throughout, but it takes time and once places like A-Pro the generic builders of many of our early 90s Alu bikes moved away (or nobody wanted them) there was no hope as cost comes in as the change starts to happen. Suspension replacement is catching on and standardising on a universally alterable lengh of unthreaded tubing on mass makes that type chepest. But its all thinkings as an outsider.

But OverSize and Evolution had only been around a hear or two before the shift to ahead, so neither of them became any sort of standard, it was still 1" threaded and either one of them as an addition.

1" threaded (and threadless later) wasn't going anywhere as road bikes still used it.
