Here is what I did with an old trek 9800 OCLV from 1995.

A few 3DV parts lying around in the bottom of a drawer, lila GeoClaws, "custom" HEDs on ceramic rims ..... and voila

Nice. What's the weight? I had a 21" stock 9900 Pro issue which came in at 21lbs, so this looks about the same size. Deep section rims always give the impression of being a heavyweight but I would think those HEDs are pretty light in their own right.

This one is not very light, it is 9.8 with the HEDS (heavy because Mavic 117 ceramic rims).
In 1993 I had an OCLV that I had lowered to less than 8kg with PACE RC35 custom (titanium steerer / ERGAL stanchions)

hi all i built this one to ride on the road. didn't want a full on road bike. so just incase i didn't like it could always change it back ot mountain. thought cabon would make for a light build. i call it my `street bike'. what do you think? :) regards roy
