My favourite is the A686 from Haydon Bridge, through Alston to Penrith. Go early though before the bikes get out. Make sure you have some big brakes for this one as you have lots of 100mph straights followed by twisty sections and 2nd gear hairpins.
Another classic is the A592 from Penrith to Windermere, tight and technical with lots of 2nd and 3rd gear corners that flow perfectly. Try it very early in the morning to avoid tourists. The decent to Windermere is great but is a huge drop to the left in places.
Heading south, try the unclassified road that leaves the A171 moors road in North Yorkshire just a few miles south east of Guisbro'. It takes in Castleton, Rosedale Abbey and Cropton before ending on the A170 west of Pickering. There is some great riding around these parts too- its our route to Dalby from the North East. It starts with fast open moorland with some cracking blind corners over crests before plummeting down into narrow valley roads with flowing corners and great series of big yumps between the forrests. Very quiet road but gets bikes by mid day. This is the road where Sithlord always throws up when he gets a lift with me to Dalby. Make sure you have a good Sumpguard for this one as the compressions in the middle section can rip your engine out. Particulary watch for the bridge just south of Cropton, it looks flat until you get on it but even at 25mph you will get airbourne.
Whilst in North Yorkshire try the Cockayne loop North of Helmsley off the A170. This was a classic road rally section in the 70's and early 80's. I remember watching BDA Escorts on slicks doing this years back and its super quick but can catch you out.
Off course I don't have to remind you to drive carefully and below the speed limit at all times.
