The Salmon of self doubt... has been cooked in butter

You know no-one here thinks what you do for a living makes you any less useful or important as a person; on the two occasions I've met you I've looked on your situation with envy. You've got a beautiful house, and you're living with someone who loves you. So many of us don't have that.

And that's before we look at all the bike porn you find at the recycling centre. ;)

Nothing wrong with bettering yourself, though. After years of feeling bitter and doing a procession of shite jobs, I started doing an OU degree, and it's changed everything for me. Look into the financial support pages, you'd be suprised how much help is available:

http://www3.open.ac.uk/study/explained/ ... port.shtml

but whatever, don't be down on yourself. You touch more lives than you realise.

Get in touch if you want to talk about doing a degree part time. You'd sail through it.

i didnt find my cycling job till i was 38 ...i spent over 15years in higher edukashun(pun) learning everything from electronics to furniture design..im qualified up to me ventricals but what do i do for a job....yup cycling prifficiency to 10 yearolds....i love it...i cant believe iget paid for it...if you evr want a fun job go for the vacancy in west norfolk being advertised at the mo internally...choose the schools you want to go to...ya hours ..travelling exspenses ect plus you get to muck about with bikes all day.

I'm actually blushing....

Always get a bit of a funk on this time of year when the sun disapears.

I blame my ego, huge and inflated one minute, hiding behind the fridge the next.

and cheers chris667 ;)

It sounds to me like you don't have a longer-term ambition, and are living from day to day.

I'd start off by imagining how you would like to be in 10 years time, and then deciding the steps necessary to be there.

erm, still here finding cool stuff down the tip?

Very well said!

I'd take the Salmon of self doubt and get very Anton Chigurth on it's finny ass............

Finding cool stuff in a skip seems good to me- nowt like findin' or fixin' discarded and broken stuff..........my brother makes more than a few quid rebuilding Marshall amps (he's not quite found one on the tip yet, but close to!). I'm all for a return to Men in Sheds and Blokes with Barrows who fix up stuff, instead of havin' tae call a national numder for a plumber and waitin' for two days for one tae arrive and cost ye £100 afore he even does anything.

The Funk gets you when the sun disappears :!:

STAY AWAY FROM SCOTLAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your a great guy respected by all on this site, what more could you want ;)
