Nice tt Apache,

Wee pic of mine. No arm at moment as my 3009 is awaiting conversion to 12” carbon armtube.

Re:

I have a 3009 in the shed I've been toying with converting to 12". I struggle to bend CF tube though ;)

The one you see on my OD in the previous pic is CF tube. Straight is much easier to build! Did you machine the slate? What with?

Look up soniksircle in Arbroath and see their same 3009/12 cf conversions for some inspiration :)

The first mistake is assuming that it has to be curved :)

Wow! This thread is still reasonably fresh! :D

Here's one of my latest builds. LGF is familiar already.
Very nice apache, I have a feeling I recognise that superb build quality

I've just integrated a battered £5 car boot Arcam FMJ CD-17 into my system - it has no display but thats hardly an issue. As long as it spins up CD's I dont care.

My existing remote works the controls so I can relax and play a single disc at a time without having to move more than a finger or two for almost 80mins.

The AV processor you can see is a prototype, possibly the last one still in use, 20 years old this year! It communicates with amplifier (one of the very last 7 channel models) via its built in Siemens micro-controller (an expensive item when it was sourced). Its quite happy with the standard DTS/ DD 5.1 feed from a blu-ray player.

I've just found this thread, my set up's been that way for years. Very pleased with it. Kept swapping bits til it sounded great....

The valve amps with the Electostatic speakers are lovely. I did have the valve pre amp (and 2 x Quad valve tuners) but changed to the 44 so I could use the CD player. I'm still tempted to get rid of the CDs and go back to just vinyl...

Original tag stuff was great and tbh the CD player probs sounds better with screen off anyway.

Nice setup
