Thanks, does 110bcd right size for M900 crank arms ?
I’ve read he used 52 at other races, but not sure what he used here. I think n reality I’m going to use a size that works for me on regular local rides, prob nearer 42. Then with a bit of trial an error if that doesn’t work out.
I’ve a PACE middle ring on at the moment to test things out till I buy whatever I think is the right size And then let the PACE set of 3 rings go (sizes 26/36/46)

Found this pic from the same May 1994 Cap D’Ail race which seems to help confirm a few things, all be it fuzzy: it’s a 2 bolt iBeam stem up front, more suited to riser bars. You can just about see the shinny bolt bump above & below.
And I think I can just about see the waves of the black Onza Ules bar grips on a black riser as suspected. The rise doesn’t seem as big as Azonics making me think again that it might be a Club roost go fast to match, but not sure yet.
Still can’t quite see if he’s using a DCD or what colour it is. I’m guessing he is and it’s a 2 bolt silver but no evidence for sure yet, he’s had both red & silver versions mounted in the months prior/after.

As per title, Ahead version, got to be chrome and got to be 2 bolt front clamp to fit riser bars. Example pics below, just ideally the shortest 120mm version and 1-1/8th steerer clampwww.retrobike.co.uk

A riser clamp edition club roost iBeam stem, all the way from Finland thanks to @Vesatoro memory and @Arilan for letting it go to someone who needed it more. She looks almost NOS.
it looks like a beast of a stem and so much more appropriate to the build than i realised. I was hoping it had a smaller stack height than the interim part, but alas it’s bigger, I could now do with an FSX steerer tube that’s 15mm longer !!

In keeping with as many NOS or almost NOS parts as possible, in the depths of the magazines for sale section, I found what must be the worlds only NOS NIB still attached to the cover of the magazine it came with 28 years ago, a Mr Cruds Crud Bung. Which just so happens to also be a cover shot edition of JMC riding this 1994 FSR, all be it still fully stock equipped at the time the photo was taken, before he’d modified it ready for the 1st Grundig downhill of that season.
