Sup’s GT Avalanche 12.5” Build

A short break in the rain afforded me an opportunity to wet sand with Ajax and 240 grit. After a wipedown of IPA, the frame was primered in the outdoor paint booth.

The first color has been laid down. More rain is expected over the next week, so I’m hoping to add the next color over the coming weekend.

Paint application is starting from the bottom bracket moving outwards towards the headtube and dropouts. I’m not sure if it should be a thick black stripe or a thin white stripe with the streamer thru the GT logo, followed by gunmetal on the ends. Black then white, or white then black? Any suggestions?

These are serving as inspiration for the livery. Let’s see where next next few weeks takes the paint….

I found a local OfferUp listing of a Syncros Big Box wheelset for $60. There was a buyer ahead of me so I offered $80 and immediate pick-up. Jerk maneuver, but they’re mine. Now I face the dilemma of putting them on this bike to match the bars and saddle, or mounting them on my Zaskar. Do any of you know if 7-speed HG cassette will fit Deore M510 hubs?
