Roberts tri athlete

Just picked this up. Roberts, mostly dura ace, splash of campag, bit of 600, rolls etc

Looks in good nick generally

Any advice on removing the tri bits? Will the shift go straight on the dt bosses without extr bits?

Everything should just unclamp. The shifters should fit ok if you have the down tube fittings which are curved to fit the frame - they may have bar end mounts which are flat.

Any idea if it's a generic bit or will I need a da special?

Also another question, do you think the bars are a latter addition? They are not the classic Rams horn, but they are silver.

Haven't checked but Im guessing from paint style, decals and build that this is an early nineties frame

Looks good. I'd guess a year or so either side of 1990.
Frame number will give it away. I have a 1990 with the 'Roberts' on top of the seatstay like that (653), also around the bb shell from about this time. Plenty of fades in the 1989 catalogue.

The bars are early '90s, so I'd guess they're around the same age as the frame.

I would think those Profile tri-bars are hard to come by these days

Got the triathlon shite off of it. It does have the spacer things but they are flat not radius end

Will stick them on anyway and see what it looks like.

The curved ones seem plentyful in the states, but not here.

Will ask at my local shop, but I'm in the states next month so will try and get them there if I'm struggling, unless someone has a source!
