It's okayish but I think really I need to get th chain off and set it up again from scratch

The dt lever isn't quite right either, it's spring loaded and I think it might have been set up backwards on the tri bars, it that possible?

Anyway need to get a few miles on it before I do anything else.

As you can see eyelets on wheels are rough, by far the worst part of it, so not sure what to do about them.

If I had the a spare £300, I think a new 105 grouppo would be good, compact and 11 speed, but would the front mech reach? And I would need new wheels....

You've seen Spinal Tap, surely? It's 3 faster than 8-speed.
