Columbus started making cycle tubing in 1919. In the 30s they did a lot for aircraft similar to Reynolds, between 1945 /1950 they made the GILCO tubes for Ferrari racing cars driven by Fangio, Viloresi and Ascari. The experience gained from this led to the use of CR-MO steel alloy cycle frames.
