Nokon type cables, talk to me! tell me!!

My nokon creaked, which was amplified by the size of he tubes on the Klein. I'd stick to goretex if the bike is a rider

I have nokons on a mtb and cross bike, i think these cable systems are far superior to standard cables and better than the Gore system.

They can creak when they get a bit dirty but I find this is quickly cured with a spray over and wipe down of GT85. The anodising lasts well as do the inner linings. You can run the inner lining the the entire length of the cable run. If you have any spare you can fit a Gore seal over the end of the lining. As they last for years I think they are cost effective too.

I have found that not all gear cable inners fit in the Nokon gear cable lining. I am currently using the coloured inner gear cables from clee cycles and they work well and look bling. I may try the mini alligator link cables on xc racer.com, they had some at the bristol show and they looked neat.
