Are the Kilauea decals custom? They look identical to 97, except 97 were yellow. Or is it a 96 bike? Looks really good anyway.

The decals did come from Kona back when they actually still had some. I believe they are 98 decals from the mustard yellow frame (anybody confirm or deny?).

Yours are definitely in the 97 style, same font, but black outline - your colour is the Explosif colour, isn't it?

Forgot to say the Bonty is most tasteful and your colour coordination between the frame and your fence shows awesome attention to detail!

Do you have your saddle at that angle to keep your weight back? Makes me feel quite queasy I must confess, but then I'm only a whinging Pom.

Hmm don't know about that then, the outlines on mine are white, you just can't see them against the white frame. I don't think they are 97 style- there is no fruit salad or whatever it is next to the 'Kilauea'. Funny, I could have sworn I've seen a yellow 98 on ebay before with blue decals.

As for the saddle, I'm not sure, always seem to have had them at that angle, feels weird any other way. If you think that looks uncomfortable you should see the angle my dad has his saddle at! :shock:

Must be said though - whether custom or not, those blue decals look great on a white Kilauea, it's a superb-looking bike.

Aww, I was going to get it resprayed again but I think you guys have just convinced me to give the paint a cleanup instead!

That one on ebay is a 95 with the stock (fabulous) paint job. Made me mad seeing it left out in the rain.
