Well thanks to furlough, I’ve discovered this forum and to say it’s helped my boredom and drive during this lock down is an understatement. Every night I’m reading these Threads and reliving my youth and it’s give me a kick up the arse to use my spare time having a go a building a few old bikes.......
Having just cut my teeth on a Alpinestars, I wanted to relive my earliest Christmas wishes of wanting a Muddyfox [ I ended up with n Apollo sis from Halfords ].
Having been browsing various sales platforms I stumbled across a muddyfox with some nice geometry at pocket money price.....however it was in red, never been fond of red nor red rust everywhere ....plus I wanted to give a fingers up to the brand snobbery of so many people who don’t realise how important the bikes and the marketing tool of muddyfox was in the instrumental days of the British mountain bike origins and where we are today. As a brand, they were cutting edge but unfortunately got dissolved into that dreaded falcon brand in the late 90s along with claud butler, British eagle and a few others so here it is ....the beginning
