MOTOR CHAT

Reached a milestone with the Escort project today, managed to get all the underside painting just about done (it's been a shit job, really), just the underside of the sill extensions to strip and paint and they'll be a doddle (flat panels)

Got the back end all bolted up tight for the first time too, everything works as it should, bags of clearance everywhere :)

The new Weller wheels fill out the rear arches better (without spacers) than the Minilights, i think they suit the car better too

As it sits at the moment, just need a pair of front tyres, re fit the steering column and the shell will be rolling again, then it's full steam ahead with building the engine.

Just bought a new cheapish car while the touran is off sick.... A wee Alfa 147, love it. Not sure where to put the bike, or the kids for that matter :D

Very nice :) , is it a 2.0 TS ?, very partial to Alfa's, i've only had a 155 2.0 TS, found it a very nice car to drive, quick and sounded great, hideously expensive for parts though even from the motor factors.

Yup, a Tspark Lusso, a few things need fixed but nothing major. Drives really nicely, we also have an Alfa specialist in Dundee that the owner also happens to be running the north Scottish Alfa club which can only be a good thing ( other than perhaps prices as you say)

oh not at all gaz
alfas are for me in the same catagory as lapdancers and dinosaurs
love them ,but wouldnt want to own one

i was just trying to imagine the conversation thats all
our unreliable cars in for repair ,so we bought an alfa

nearly bought a 155 silverstone a million years ago
but my son managed to pull the door handle off as we got out after a test drive ,and the salesman ,without blinking said that'll be covered under the warranty theres always teething problems with these
