I'm going to stray away from that slippery slope it's getting to expensive :D

There will be another MTB build coming along at some point. and I have another road frame or two to build up :LOL:
 
So I've been waiting for another stem to arrive from Italy before I could finish this build, I think it was sent via Australia its taken that long to get here :roll: . I wasn't overly convinced by the Record stem with it being 5mm to long but the biggest niggle it wasn't period correct and didn't suit the build which it the important thing. In the end I went for a 95mm 3ttt podium stem in black but also pantographed Ernesto Colnago.



So with the stem finally getting here on Friday I was keen to get this finished but I'd have to wait until Sunday afternoon to get on the case.

I decided for this to be a rider that I would have to make some changes, the first were the tyres and tubes I went for some 25mm Vittoria Corsa as I've used them before and they really have a good feedback from the road as well as being nice a grippy and as this is never going to be a competition bike I sacrificed a bit of weight for the ease of puncture repair going for the slime tubes.
The other choice was the chainrings I'm not a fan of grinding up hills and prefer to spin my way up them hence the choice in the 38t ring size giving me a bottom gear of 35.98 still not as low as todays modern compacts but it will help for sure and a top of 110.32 which is sufficient for my peddling prowess (or lack of it :facepalm: )

Looking forward to taking it out and seeing what the Colnago hype is all about but with the weather front we have coming in thats going to have to wait too. :LOL:

Great bike but... is it safe to have the stem out of the frame that much?

If you're a fan of an aggressive riding geo, this is gonna be your bike. I finished rebuilding mine today (as a neo retro) and it definitely is my favourite bike.
 
Nice work Clive. You need to host another retro-road ride so you can flaunt it.
I've just the bike to join you with.

Thanks guys it been fun building this one.I think I've reached my pinicle with road bikes I finally have what I really wanted and don't see much point in doing another expensive build on the road side.
