Marin B17 2000

Re:

I didn't mean to cause offence, I just thought that when you've spec'd most of the bike to XT 1x10 level, wouldn't you want to make the most of it and have the rest of the spec be as good. A pair of mavic rims wouldn't cost much at trade price, and a second hand fork wouldn't be that dear either.

The frame, swingarm and fork lowers cost me £25 all in to be powdercoated so why not?
Building the wheels was a fun hour spent building a pair of wheels. They are only cheap Deore hubs, whats the big deal? If they were Hope or CK then I would agree but for a little project that I didn't want to spend any money on it was the easiest way. All in I reckon its cost me approx. £300 and since its been in the shop window I've been offered £800.

That is an amazing price for powder coating, cheapest quote I could get was £50 for my Marin without the forks. Cheaper to swap the frame, which I have just done!
