I did in fact receive a message from the fella saying that the frame was nicked last night along with his other bikes :shock: Maybe somebody traced his address or somethig from the post?

Really?? I got messages from him last night (thursday) and today (friday) saying no such thing, plus a bunch of new photos with the same background as the auction picture.

No mystery here. Someone offered him £500 (maybe more) and he took it.

That really is a bargain if it's a genuine price. A lot less magic, but the same tubes. And the RL is lighter than an Explosif, so I guess uses much the same gauge tubes as the 96 Hot.

I really don't like the "Stars & Bars" paint job so much.
...For a number of reasons .

Yes, I know it's become regarded as a bit of a classic paint scheme, but I much prefer the Hots with the "flamejob" front end.

My Aha cruiser has the same S&B paint, but I have toyed with the idea of getting it resprayed in a classic Breezer style paint scheme with the white "pool cue" darts on the front like a classic Schwinn klunker.

Unlike a Hot, a nice respray is not likely to reduce the value of an Aha.

500GBP for a Hot frame?
the seller must be pleased... think I'll hang onto my Hei-Hei a bit longer
