Klein Prototype - final built up pics page 5

Re: Klein Prototype

Very rare and nice frame !!!

For build nice wheelset, have a pair of Mavic T217 silver Nos in 36h (700)

Re: Klein Prototype - update 1

When you have kids, you get no time to do anything. Changing an innertube involves negotiation, planning and lack of daylight.

This is what I managed to do this Sunday before I was cruelly pulled away...

Ain't that the truth!, I was up until mid-night the other week changing Klein bottom brackets! ;)

Looking sweet Matthew, keep it up!

Re:

Re:

So, after what seems likes years I have finally found time to finish this pretty bike. As said previously it's a prototype adept and one that I was not expecting when I bought the bike. The bike has cleaned up pretty well and bar one or two slight nicks is pretty mint. The build is play it safe XTR m900, super rare 700c smokes which help bulk it up, giving a proper retro 29er look.

I love the adepts and have had a few now, comparing this prototype with my other adept and there are a few details which set this apart to the production run models :

1. No raised bottle cage bolts on downtube. The production run adepts ran the adroit downtube with the raised bottle cage mounts. This has the adroit diameter downtube but not raised mounts.
2. Raised fork rack mounts. Production forks are smooth, proto has raised rack mount area.
3. Rear drop out - differs to that of production run with a less pronounced rack mount hole position.
4. Fork marking - No adept specific marking to back of fork. Fork also marked with PT on other dropout
5. 'Prototype' stamped - to drive side rear dropout.

Some pics follow :

Re:

A chap on here I seem to remember. They really beef it up and make it less 'hybrid' and more 'mtb'
