I've decided that.... (you ain't gonna like this....)

Re:

My first 4 cars were Minis, a rust bucket of a blue Morris 1000, a harvest gold Mini 850, a white Mini Clubman Estate (to carry my girlfriend and my canoeing and camping gear), then a black 1275GT whose engine had a rather large appetite for oil. Got the engine and box out of an Austin 1300GT like this

which essentially had a Cooper S engine with same internals.

I got the block bored to 1320cc, new pistons/rings, crank/flywheel/pistons/rods lightened and balanced, 731 cam from Minisport, Janspeed LCB exhaust manifold, ported the head and combustion chambers, separated the cast iron inlet manifold from the exhaust manifold then opened out and ported it, fitted a 1' 3/4 inch SU carb with new needle, changed the advance on distributor(new springs, a wee bit of filing to advance stop).
Then put it in 1275GT, it would stay with a MK1 Escort Mexico up to 100mph but then the Escort would get away from it up to 110mph.
Rather enjoyed driving it.

If you get another Mini, enjoy yourself.

Re:

Here's mine when I'd just bought it, I've changed the number plates since, they were horrible.

Re:

Say byebye to the breezer and the zaskar. The kona looks like a good base for a project, you could have it blasted and powdercoated the same colour as your mini ;) and id rather have a classic mini over bikes any day, nobody needs more than one mountainbike :p
