IF I wanted a modern bike....

Maybe a bit off topic, but last year I wanted to try modern as well... all I had was a 1992 StumpJumper, 1992 S-Works Carbon, Merlin Ti (1989 with U-brake) and Xizang LE (again, 1992).

I ended up ordering a frame from Carver Bikes http://carverbikes.com/bikes/carbobeast as with searching I found out about Fat Bikes... Now my build is finished (built it when I had funds for parts) and I've been riding only this bike for the last 6 months!! Even all my other retro bikes have been sold (except the S-Works Carbon and Xizang as of now).

I love the bl**dy thing and it rides a dream! Welcome to 2017 LOL ;-)

Re: Re:

Many thanks Ian....I guess I am going to need to set up a pinkbike account  .....not sure I ever thought I would say that.

Decided to move on a couple of the bikes that either don't fit/don't get ridden . I should end up with a budget of about 1k hopefully, which will let me get something half decent by the looks of it.

Any views on Carbon Cannondale Lefty as there is one local to me ?

Re:

If you're jumping in to modern kit with both feet then I'd definitely advise at least trying a couple of short-travel full sus 29ers - modern air shocks really are good, what with platform damping, and you may find you really like how they ride.
