Would any of you roadie types have any idea what would be the fattest tyre I could fit in that frame? 700 X 40? Is that like a 1.5"?

Have a quick measure between the chainstays. Quite likely you won’t get more than a 32 pinched in there once you take account of the brake bridge and fork crown clearance
