Hed Cross Country hub selection

Hi all
Just wondering what hubs are acceptable on a pair of Hed Cross Country Rims.

I know Ringle is the standard, but I’ve seen all sorts. Hope, Shimano XTR m900, Shimano LX.

What were they back in the day and what hubs are deemed acceptable.

Wondering if white industries, XTR m900, hugi, hope titanium, or anything else would be good.

Any ideas?

In my head anything American and trick although as you say Ringle is the go to. Personally I wouldn't go Hope or Shimano but that's just me. Nuke's or even Bullseye's might look pretty cool.

Was wondering that, and thinking XTR might be quite tasty on an xtr build. i know its not a common mixture but i assume back in the day the rims were built up with all sorts, not just ringle.

LX were proflex OEM and looked awful

Got a ringle bubba rear and superbubba front lined up for these rims.
does that work? Never seen Bubba rear on them, but i feel it could work.
