Frame detectives needed here?!

Heres an old mtb frame I had back in the early 90s.. Bought it from a friend but never knew what it was. Any ideas? Don't be fooled by the stickers or paintjob, they were done in 96 ish.

Looks similar to an alcarter e-stay frame.... Saratoga? rings a bell.
