Frame cable guide adapter

I must be missing something here.
I need to run cabling to the rear brake on my ‘96 ATX 990, but the cable guides on the top tube (for the rear brake only) are the open type and don’t have a stop for the outer cable.

Can anyone tell me the name or keyword of the adapter I need to allow cable outers to start / stop please. A point in the right direction would also be welcomed!

Running a Vbrake you could run a full outer with no problems.
 
Search for stepped ferrules, you should find something, probably from the motorbike world. 👍 😁

That’s actually what I’m trying to avoid as I think it looks a bit clunky.
Thing is it’s a canti frame bike so there must be a thingy - I just remember what the thingy is called 🤣
 
There are coned rubber versions, I took some of a bike I bought.
Can't find them on the interwebz now but I might still have them in a box (or 3)
