Huh I knew there was something... Really sorry for misinformation on those M560s. It wasn't that 118mm wouldn't fit, it was 113 that had the chainrings touching chainstays slightly. Had to dismantle my commuter anyway (someone stole handlebars from it), so did it now. This is how it is with 118mm BB on this particular old GT. Guess most frames wouldn't have issue with the 113mm one and this was just something of this frame.
Wouldn't go narrower than that but yes, why not try it.
