Decal/laquer damage - advice on restricting spread?

F***in D Locks.

The only problem with my otherwise mint Caldy is where it had another bike locked to it and the ends of the lock have smacked it in the same place over and over again :(

I don't care about a couple of battle scars but the laquer is now flaking where the damage has gone down to the base paint.

Can anyone advise me the best way to stop it going further? My concern with rattle can laquer is making the mess worse. As the decals are otherwise under the laquer replacing them is not an easy option but not sure if I can bodge some sort of repair.

As always, any advice much appreciated :D

I'd touch up the colours with Humbrol or Tamiya type paint & use a bit of the wifes clear nail varnish to seal it, then helitape it to stop happening again

Re:

Regarding the helitape, is the biketart stuff any good?

I've used it and seems OK, very clear and shiny, but I haven't tried any others, so couldn't really say how it compares.
