Re: Dean Titanium [new parts page 6]

I recieved some lovely parts the last weeks and got some time to make a quick mock up to see how the parts work out.
I think it is not to bad...
No I love it!!
I'm glad I didn't go for all the other colours, but just some red.

I have thought a lot about the choice of the mechs and shifters.
I wanted to go all USA for this build, but SRAM didn't make mechs back then and Paul and Proshift are way to expensive to use as a rider.
So I got to the company SRAM took over to use their knowlage of mechs; Sachs.
I found a great set of their top model the Quartz and am pretty impressed of the quality.
This was the competitor of XTR in the days.

What I need to do know is get rid of all the coloured bolts and replace them for Ti ones.
Replace the headset for a black or silver one, what would look better you think?
Replace the hideous purple nipples of the wheelset and the rims for WTB Power Beams that are on their way.
Find a US made Ti handlebar (the one I bought on Ebay couldn't be delivered and was send back and the seller doesn't want to send again  )
Find a small Pace chainring.
Polish the rear mech.
And then some cables and it is finished!

Yes I know...
I put them on quickly so I could make some pics before it started raining.
I'm a noob with these brakes, I had no idea what to do with the spring tension adjuster, so looked that up last night...

wow - that's about as trick as you can get, without having Richard Branson's budget to work with!

That is absolutely stunning! Sweet from every angle.
Love the parts, the colour scheme used and the outright classiness of it!

Great choice with the Sachs -where'd you source the front mech from? I'm on the lookout for one (have the rear and 8 spd Plasma shifters)
