IIRC the first (or second?) version of the frame actually came with a heat shrink sleeve (clear) over each of the mesh structures.
 
Wow ! , now that's what i call art and i think i'd get away with mounting it on the living room wall ;) ..

You may jest but the bar ends on my retro sarscen used to whistle. This happened in wales and took me a while to figure it out. There was tiny hole in the undersidd purpose to vent duribg welding. Covering it up stopprd the noise.e
