If the internals of the shifters have been altered I wouldn't know, both shifters and mech are ebay 2nd hand. There are 8 clicks, surely if it was converted to work with 9 it would pull less cable, not too much?

Last night I used the cable clamp from the Daytona on the Athena mech and tried a better Hubbub, which works almost spot on.
The bike is a 1985 Peugeot Tour 10 which I bought 2nd hand when I was 12 in 1990. Back then I changed the wheels and put some aero brakes on and just made it a bit more racer. Strava got me back into cycling so I was just bringing her a litte bit further forwards in technology.
