Two great projects, looking forward to progress! What material is the Pug frame?

Cheers, the Montana is Reynolds 531 tubing on the frame and forks,i need to find a 531 sticker for the forks for a finishing touch.

I have a Raleigh Moonshine project with those stickers, full 531, I just checked the thread on here and realised I haven't done anything to it for over a year! Need a load of Deore DX! What have you got planned for the Montana? Or will it spoil the surprise?!

I've had projects which have ended up like that,i ended up selling them on
Someone's selling original 531 fork stickers for a fiver each on eBay,something to think about. Plans for the build is mostly XT but not catalogue build spec just need to find a couple more parts which might hold the build up for a bit. The hardest part to find is a decent stem in the correct size, peugeot had to be awkward by not making the fork 22.2mm it's more like 21.2mm. I'm wanting a stem along the lines of a kona velocity type of style to make the angle more flatter.

Agreed, those pug stems are a bit angled, but certainly distinctive! I can imagine with a flat stem and seat up it could look quite the racer.

That's the type of look i'm trying to get,i found a stem on eBay which was cheap enough and had free postage so i bought it to see if it's any good.

Re:

Little bit more progress with the Killi, got the stem resprayed just need to do some touching in around the lettering. I'm going with yellow cables by jagwire which turned up today, bargain less than £6 posted for a full set and there should be enough to be able to do brakes and gears. I'm going with DX pedals to match the Deore ll,Deore DX theme which are stripped ready to be serviced and the cages are ready to be resprayed. I've found some touch up paint for the frame and forks which looks to be really close to the colour,so just waiting for that to turn up and by then the rest of the parts should be all cleaned and ready to bolt on,it's turning into an enjoyable build this Killi :D

Re:

Bit more done on the Killi. I've done some more of the detailing by replacing the original worn out prestige decal and done some black detailing work, just the crank arms, seatpost and brake levers to do. I'm still thinking about what to do regarding the lettering on the post and crank arms, the m730 XT crank has giving me an idea though.
For the frame and forks i've used some white spirits then a 2 in 1 t-cut wax, only done one coat with that on the main tubes but it seems to be doing the trick. So they'll be a few more coats of that while i wait for the touch up paint then lots of coats of polish to hopefully get it looking nice and shiny again.
There's still the cleaning of the wheels to do,a different cassette, pedals to finish, grips, walls of the tyres to clean and some other things i might change along the way  :D

Re:

Just found my 1989 world cup Turbo saddle i had used on my Team Stumpjumper and swapped the quick release for a spare Shimano one. A quick lick of paint on that add the saddle and the bike looks better, just need the seatpost resprayed black :D
