i know the two penny trick. but i would think because of how wide the clamp is, you'd end up scrapping up the finish on the bar pretty badly where the bends are. either that or you're really pushing the clamp very dangerously fair apart.
I really love the steel Edge, this one is going to be fantastic - following with interest. And yes, getting the bar in a cattlehead is always a pain...
