90's Hybrid/Cross bike thread.

Re:

Do you know I'm actually looking for one of these style bikes at this very moment. Long story short I wanted a bike to leave at my sister's place so I can ride in a different area on occasion. Mostly muddy trails but nothing technical so when I found this for £15 I grabbed it quick.

After the first ride I love it...so much so in fact that I'm trying to find something else similar for me to have home here for my 20+ mile rides where road bikes are a bit less suitable. Planning on doing a bit of touring later on.

Re:

I'll add my recently acquired "hybreed" to this thread.
Muddyfox Trailblazer 180 from early/mid '90's at a guess as I can't find much info about this model, I've no idea what the 180 refers to (it could be it's weight in lbs as it isn't exactly lightweight! ).
It has the most godawful low end Shimano mechs and C-Star plastic brakes... I might "upgrade" it with some 200GS parts I have in my spares box

Bump for dumb question

Bianchi Boardwalk, maybe 93 or 94.... one for sale locally. Is this a bike worth adding to a “collection”?.. I’m not familiar with 700c wheels, so I’m clueless. The lugged frame is what perked my attention.

I'm not familiar with that model, but I'd look at the tubing used on the frame and the groupset spec'ed to get a sense of the quality. I have a 91Miyata triple cross which was high quality, but I've noticed that the group sets spec'ed tended to get cheaper as time went on and hybrids were targeted at less serious riders.
