I remember that paint job well, it was a three-color fade, then the jellybeans were added by spraying about 1" away from the frame with the gun with a clear coat on top.

I really liked that vintage of the Romax. The addition of the hite-rite braze-on, forward-facing seat clamp and internal, continuous housing rear derailleur cable routing were all innovations driven by our new-found love of the North Shore trails. For the day, that was definitely one of the best "all-mountain" bikes going!

Also, the pump braze on was made from a cut up nail which I always found amusing.
