Ok so a little update. The frame/forks are back from Bournes in Birmingham - they did a good job in my opinion. They masked the threads and bosses/steerer tube etc (although I did check first) and turned it around in a couple of days. Would definitely use them again. Friendly as well. The colour is RAL9003.
Note there are some flecks of black on the frame, this is just grit from the blasting as there is some still inside the tubes.
Interesting detail on the steerer - this was previously coated in paint so wasn't visible - there are other letters after the SP, but I cannot read them. I wonder if "86" refers to the year of build?

And managed to get hold of a NOS Epoch Mori headset. It looks unfathomably complex!
