1998 Cannondale CAAD2 XS (Killer V-type) restomod

Wanted to build a vintage MTB to my wife (and later to my daughter). Found this Cannondale CAAD XS (Killer V-type) frame for sale as a poor condition project. I decided to go restomod, as they are not used to 3x drivetrain, and did not want to increase chances they do not like riding it with the chain drops and all…

So I choose keeping it simple and not very high tech: Shimano Deore 10 speed drivetrain, Alivio V-brakes, HUP 150mm crankset (my wife is 150cm), but they work. Found a nicely fitting Manitou SX Ti fork for the build, keeping the front end light but with suspension. Quite pleased on the outcome, even it’s not for the purist. They like it too.

Thanks. Maybe not the typical bike here But totally opposite, just removed meters of old worn stickers from the frame, almost all else was not reusable. Drivetrain, wheels were all done and it was fitted with some 3kg "long travel" Zokes, ruining the geometry for small rider and so on...
