1992 Explosif Pro project.

This was the bit I was most concerned about having not fitted a set of used forks before. They went on like a dream though!

Exotic stem now. Wasnt 100% on this with sizing and I'm still not. Thinking a shorter one at some point as it's still a long reach and not my most comfortable riding position but this does the job for now.

I did have to trim about 3mm off the steerer tube. o spacers - I wanted to keep the bars relatively low. And I didnt have any spacers to use...

Answer handlebars now. One of the 3 sets I won on ebay! The first set did come from China but these were better. The third set, therein lies a tale. Suffice to say the ebay seller was making some very suspicious requests -leave feedback prior to actually receiving anything and then would I mind subbing him the postage and he *promises* to pay me back once he gets paid at the end of the month. Said no to all the above as I'd paid postage in the sale price and if he wasnt going to honour the sale then give me my money back. Eventually I had to raise a complaint with PayPal who sorted it promptly.

Fitting controls and grips. NOS Tektro levers and some lock on grips. These will be changed as I dont like them. I have a few others I've seen in mind but no final decision as yet as to which. The old XT thumbshifter is reused. Rear only as I've gone 1x7.

NOS Tektro V-brakes too. Silver of course as it all fits with my scheme!

Fitting cables! Not my favourite thing to do but kinda essential! Red outers and anodized ally end things. There are red ferrules too but not fitted at this point.

At this point I moved inside as it was starting to spit. More cable routing.

Reused polished cranks and 44t red chainring and red anodized bolts. In the end I mounted it on the inside of the spider as it caused the chain to flex too much.

Getting there! Carbon seatpost and reused saddle. I will replace the saddle at some point as it's not that comfortable and the q/r clamp for the seatpost is a bit shabby. A red anodized one will find it's way there eventually!
