Sure. It's extremely heavy. ;)

I guess if it wasn't built to take a beating ..it would be cracked to hell and of not use to man nor beast

Re:

The frame is lighter than I thought:

- Frame, size 48cm C-T, incl King headset cups and Ti bottle screws: 2463g.
- Yeti fork with BMX steerer, 15.5cm and steel headset race: 840g.
- Yeti steel stem, 150mm, 389g.

Happy new year, everyone! :)

I mounted some parts - here is a quick pic:

Also, I am getting a wheelset built - VGC black Bullseye hubs with NOS black Araya RM-17. It was really hard finding NOS black rims that are more or less period correct (for a 1989 build).

I am in contact with Frank "The Welder" Wadelton about the production year of my frame. His first thought is that the frame is a very early one, produced before the move to the Agoura Hills Workshop, i.e. 1985/86. But FTW has asked for more pics to confirm that. Once he has come to a conclusion I will give you an update.

Try a rubbing of the S/N, not that Yeti was all that religious with building in sequence with the stamped BB shells, but 835 and 335 are very different.

Re:

I tried to rub of some paint but now I cannot read the serial number anymore. :( I would really have to take away all of the paint in that area. Do not want to do that at the moment.

FTW told me not to pay too much attention to the serial numbers. Apperently, at the beginning, Yeti bought a batch of bottom bracket shells from Redline, that were already numbered.

I personally think this is not a 1985/86 frame, as the steerer of my fork does not take BMX stems (21.15mm) anymore, I have a 2nd. generation Yeti man and a Yeti/FTW stem. Of course, these features could also be explained by getting a new fork, stem and paintjob in 88/89.

Hopefully, FTW can give me some more clues in the next few days.

Here are some more pics that FTW asked for:

I don't know if this is important, but my chainstays have very small bumps facing outwards in the area they were bent:

Can you post a good macro pic of the S/N?

Also, by rubbing I meant rub off the S/N on a piece of paper using a normal pencil. You know, like you used to do in school on leaves and stuff?
