Looks to have 1989 decals, but seller says it has a splatter paint job.
I'm confused:
1989 Alien was white with pearlescent purple clear coat.
1990 Alien was white with black splatter.
1989 Alien had a one-inch head-tube, and 1990 had a 1 1/8-inch head-tube, but it's hard to tell what size it is from the pics.
1989 Alien had wheelsets with blue spoke nipples, and in 1990, they were black. Again, hard to tell from the pic, but they look black (of course, wheels could have been changed out years ago).
Perhaps this is a leftover 1989 Alien with 1990 wheelset that was splatter painted so it would sell in 1990? I've seen a few of the green aluminum Aliens that had the back half painted silver

, and I've always wondered if those bikes were leftovers that needed to be "moved" (sold), so they (Nishiki) repainted the back half to make it look like a new model. I've also seen a few all-silver aluminum Aliens with red decals, but only rarely. Again, maybe leftovers? Maybe very rare?
Anyone have any ideas?
