1989 Mongoose IBOC? Any info?

Hi, Just bought a Mongoose iboc which I believe to be from 1989. 18 gears? Can anybody throw any info on this one? I found a photo of a similar one....

If it has a Tange Prestige sticker on it then it's an Iboc Team. If not then it's a Pro or a Comp. I had a 1990 Iboc Pro with a Deore DX groupset and a really nice straight fork that didn't beat you up like the Kona Project IIs did. Looks like your frame has the subtle brush flick effect my frame had. The 1990 Ibocs also had a thin walled tubeset that was prone to denting. You can tell by the incredibly high pitched ringing sound it makes when you tap the top tube and the massive dents it's bound to have :-S

I had a team issue ,I think it was 88-89 with a splatter paint job,came with full xt kit.
Really nice bike.
Slimmjoe has got the frame now,looking forward to seeing it built up

Hey Colin, ive had the frame repainted which is such a shame as the paint job was lovely..

Not sure when it will be finished but watch this post
